On successful completion of this unit, students will

B. Be able to

1. Examine recent scholarship in its bearing on current issues in pneumatology

2. Demonstrate skill in utilising diverse scholarship in investigating current issues in pneumatology

3. Present Research-Aware evidence-based perspectives on current issues in pneumatology
 

C. Be in a position to

1. Applying Advanced perspectives and skills from ‘Current Issues in Pneumatology’ to ministry practice and Christian living as a reflective practitioner

Content

1. Overview of the person and the work of the Holy Spirit as presented in Scripture.
2. A selection of influential historical Christian treatments and debates regarding the person and work of the Holy Spirit. 
3. Biblical themes and issues involving the Holy Spirit’s work in the Old and New Testament periods, and in the church today.
4. Contemporary theological and philosophical issues and perspectives on the person and the work of the Holy Spirit.
5. The implications of Scripture’s teaching on the role and work of the Holy Spirit in relation to selected contemporary issues and debates in theology and ministry.
