Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will

A. Know and understand

1. Demonstrate Advanced knowledge and understanding of, and the research underlying, of a PE conference topic or theme not otherwise covered in the students’ course

B. Be able to

1. Examine recent scholarship in its bearing on a PE conference topic/theme not otherwise covered in the students’ course

2. Demonstrate skill in utilising diverse scholarship on a PE conference topic/theme not otherwise covered in the students’ course

3. Present Research-Aware evidence-based perspectives on a PE conference topic/theme not otherwise covered in the students’ course, including the preparation of a conference paper

C. Be in a position to

1. Applying Advanced perspectives and skills from a PE conference topic/theme not otherwise covered in the students’ course to ministry practice and Christian living as a reflective practitioner

Content

  1. Conference preparation
    1. Engagement with the conference topic through pre-reading of material related to the conference topic
    2. Introduction to the theory and practice of developing a conference paper
  2. Conference Participation
    1. Attend and participate (as appropriate) in at least 12 hours of presentations or workshops at the conference
  3. Conference Reflection
    1. Reflect theologically on the conference with reference to related theological sources
    2. Reflect personally on the conference experience
