- Genealogy; Birth, childhood, life until his marriage to Khadija - character assessment.
- Revelations including borrowing and abrogration.
- His life in Mecca.
- His life in Medina; Muhammad and slavery.
- Muhammad the warrior: Warfare and Battles.
- Muhammad and miracles.
- Women and Marriages.
- Muhammad, jinn and magic; Muhammad’s “scientific’ teaching.
- Death and legacy – a comparison of Christ and Muhammad.
- Prophecies about Muhammad.
- Theological reflection and Christian responses to teach of the above topics as they are encountered during the unit.
- The Hadith on Muhammad’s life.
- Non-Islamic sources on Muhammad’s life.
- Later veneration of Muhammad.
- Revisionist views of his life – attitudes of various scholars.
- Christian theological reflection on the above topics.
