On successful completion of this unit, students will

1. Identify the beliefs and relevant operations of the Diocese of Sydney in relation to children’s and youth ministry

2. Under supervision, Observe the relationship of the structures of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney to the practice of children’s and youth ministry

3. Present Analytical evidence-based perspectives on children’s and youth ministry in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney

Section B: The Diocese of Sydney

  1. The Anglican Communion: the relationship between the Diocese of Sydney, the Anglican Communion and the Anglican Church of Australia; history, constitution, current debates.
  2. Diocesan History: Sydney Evangelicalism; Anglican Youthworks (Anglican Youth Department, Board of Education).
  3. Diocesan Organisation and Government: Synod, Senior Clergy, Diocesan organisations, Diocesan Mission, Diocesan partners.

Section C: Anglican Ministry in the Diocese of Sydney
