Master of Arts (Theology) – Standard Pathway
Summary of changes
From 2020, the Master of Arts (Theology) is being discontinued.
Transition arrangements
- No new course enrolments will be accepted after 31/12/2019.
- All existing credit achieved by existing students will be multiplied by three to transition to the new credit point structure.
- Students have the option to transfer immediately to the Master of Theological Studies after 31/12/2019.
- Students are permitted to continue in their course until the end of 2021 if they maintain continuous enrolment of at least one unit per semester in 2020 and 2021, or have a suspension of candidature approved in writing by ACT for each semester without a unit enrolment.
- The remainder of their course would be completed at Level 8 and Level 9.
- All students need to complete at least 12cps at Level 9 including either a project or a capstone experience.
- As a transitional arrangement for these students, students enrolled in the “standard pathway” course are required to achieve a total of at least 138cps for the completion of the course.
- As a transitional arrangement for these students, students enrolled in the “standard pathway” course MA(48) who have enrolled in any units of study with a unit start date of 25/2/2019 or earlier (the date of formal establishment of the Master of Theological Studies) will have their credit point values multiplied by 3 (as with all other students), and be given block credit at the following rate, with block credit granted to students under this arrangement to be at AQF8:
- Students who by 31/12/2019 have achieved 1-6cps (up to 18cps 2020) will receive 42cps block credit, and have approximately 7 x 12cp units remaining.
- Students who by 31/12/2019 have achieved 7-12cps (up to 36cps 2020) will receive 36cps block credit, and have approximately 6 x 12cp units remaining.
- Students who by 31/12/2019 have achieved 13-18cps (up to 54cps 2020) will receive 30cps block credit, and have approximately 5 x 12cp units remaining.
- Students who by 31/12/2019 have achieved 19-24cps (up to 72cps 2020) will receive 24cps block credit, and have approximately 4 x 12cp units remaining.
- Students who by 31/12/2019 have achieved 25-30cps (up to 90cps 2020) will receive 18cps block credit, and have approximately 3 x 12cp units remaining.
- Students who by 31/12/2019 have achieved 31-36cps (up to 108cps 2020) will receive 12cps block credit, and have approximately 2 x 12cp units remaining.
- Students who by 31/12/2019 have achieved 37-42cps (up to 126cps 2020) will receive 6cps block credit, and have approximately 1 x 12cp units remaining.
- The default position is that students will be continued in the Master of Arts (Theology), on the assumption that students will continue in their enrolled course. Students seeking to transfer to the Master of Theological Studies or another course are required to contact their primary college Registrar or complete the enquiry form below.
- No units can be undertaken in this course after 31/12/2021, and students still enrolled at that point in time are required to transfer into another course.
