1. Applying perspectives from ‘Faith and the Arts’ to contemporary Christian living and ministry practice as a reflective practitioner
Content
1. General Issues: The philosophy and theology of aesthetics, the role of the arts in individual and corporate spirituality, and imagination and desire in faith and art.
2. Visual Arts: the nature and value of visual arts, religion and spirituality in the visual arts (theme focus), and a study of selected visual artist/s.
3. Music: the nature of music as a medium of expression, worship music through history, and a study of selected composer/s and theme/s in music.
4. Literature: Faith, imagination, narrative and poetry, historical perspectives on faith and literature, and a study of selected author/s and/or books.
5. Film: Storytelling and the elements of film, moral, spiritual, and biblical themes and issues in film, and a study of selected film/s and/or themes in film.
