Content
A study of leadership in Christian ministries in the light of biblical, theological and management perspectives.
Section A: Theoretical Study
- Biblical models and principles of leadership and management.
- Developing clearly stated purposes, well-conceived goals, detailed plans. Methods of evaluation; feedback.
- Management styles and theories; appropriate leadership for different situations and people; motivation.
- Principles of organisation; time management & decision making; using dictation.
- Financial management: Christian principles in using money; understanding accounts; budgeting.
Section B: Field Work
- Each candidate is required to spend at least 8 hours under the guidance of a Christian in a significant management position, to observe and reflect upon the principles and processes of management as he/she sees them in operation.
- Each candidate is also required to undertake a personal evaluation, under supervision, of his/her own strengths and weaknesses in leadership. The result of this evaluation is to be presented to the candidate’s supervisor; it may be in written or oral form.
Note: Sections A and B are weighted approximately 70% and 30% respectively.
