On successful completion of this unit, students willA. Know and understand
1. Demonstrate Advanced knowledge and understanding of, and the research underlying, Christian leadership with particular reference to Reformed metaphors for Christian leadership.
B. Be able to
1. Examine recent scholarship on Christian leadership with particular reference to Reformed metaphors for Christian leadership.
2. Demonstrate skill in implementing evidence-based approaches to Christian leadership as framed around the metaphors of pastor, prophet, priest and king.
3. Present Research-Aware perspectives on contemporary challenges to leadership.
C. Be in a position to
1. Applying Advanced perspectives and skills from ‘Frameworks for Christian Leadership’ to ministry practice and Christian living as a reflective practitioner
Content
The subject content is shaped around a number of metaphors of Christian leadership, particularly those arising from, and compatible with, the Reformed view of Christ as our Shepherd, Prophet, Priest and King. The content delivery will typically be structured in the following way:

- Biblical church government and leadership
- Metaphors of leadership
Leaders as prophets:
- Leaders as group educators
- Leaders as interpreters
Leaders as kings:
- Leaders as navigators
- Leaders as social architects
- Leaders as power brokers
Leaders as priests:
- Leaders as coaches
- Leaders as peacemakers
Contemporary challenges:
- Leading positive change in organizations
- Sustainable leadership in organizational contexts
