1. Applying perspectives and skills from ‘Mentoring and Pastoral Care of Workers’ to contemporary Christian living and ministry practice as a reflective practitioner
Content
Purpose:
This unit will prepare people for roles of Workplace Chaplaincy / Ministry. It will also enable those in workplaces to think through in a deeper level the application of their studies to their working lives, and those in parish ministry to develop a theological underpinning for their ministry to working people.
Aims:
- To provide basic skills in pastoral care and mentoring with a focus on workers.
- To explore issues specific to workplace settings.
- To have a more nuanced understanding of spiritual versus psychological issues; and plan for professional supervision and ongoing learning in this area.
