Content
Section A: Leadership Principles and Skills (60%)
- Biblical principles of leadership
- Leadership qualities and style
- Understanding the health of your church or organisation
- Visionary thinking and strategic planning; communicating vision
- Being a “change agent” and influencing organisational culture
- Ethics in leadership
- Finding, selecting and investing in a team; writing job contracts
- Running effective meetings and a small group
- Conflict management and working with different personality types
Section B: Understanding Australian Society and Personal Development (20%)
- Societal make up. Use of census data.
- Cultural and spiritual trends and how culture shapes outreach ministry
- Personal disciplines and intentional character development
- Understanding your personality and overcoming disappointments
Section C: Field Work (20%)
- At least 8 hours under the guidance of a Christian in a significant leadership position, observing and reflecting upon the principles and processes of leadership in operation.
- Candidates undertake a personal evaluation, under supervision, of their own strengths and weaknesses in leadership. The evaluation may be in written or oral form.
