1. Introduction to the study of 1 and 2 Kings.

  • The literary context, content, structure and genre(s) of 1 and 2 Kings.

2. Issues in the interpretation of 1 and 2 Kings.

  • Theories about the structure and composition of 1 and 2 Kings. Key themes within 1 and 2 Kings.

3. Exegesis

  • Exegesis of a selection of chapters from 1 and 2 Kings.

4. Preaching

  • Moving from exegesis to sermon composition.
