Content
Topics include:
1. Study skills: time management, organisation, note taking and exam preparation.
2. Academic writing: structure, referencing, editing, with a focus on the student’s field of study.
3. Critical thinking/logic and reasoning: evaluating and constructing logical arguments as related to aspects the student’s field of study.
4. Reading and research skills: summarising and paraphrasing, avoiding plagiarism, locating resources (including electronic).
5. English for academic purposes including specific disciplines (theology, linguistics and translation): mechanics and vocabulary.
