Enrolments

It is best in the first instance to contact one of our affiliated colleges to gain information on enrolment fees and procedures (unless you are a private student, then you would contact the ACT directly).

You will need to enrol through one of the Affiliated Colleges of the ACT (You can contact the colleges via the menu on the right of the screen).

For the Associate of Theology, Licentiate of Theology, and the Scholar of Theology courses, you can contact us directly for an application form and details of costs, etc. You can also download enrolment forms below.

Since 2004 the Bachelor of Ministry and the Graduate Diplomas can be completed in distance mode. Morling College has been granted approval by the Board of Directors to deliver these courses in this way.

The undergraduate diplomas can be completed in distance mode by the School of Christian Studies and Morling College. Three other colleges, Queensland Theological College, Presbyterian Theological Centre NSW and Anglican Youthworks, have been approved to offer some units in distance mode.

The unaccredited awards of the College, the Certificate in Theology (Formerly known as the ThA), Licentiate in Theology (ThL), and Scholar in Theology (ThSchol), are designed for private study.

The Australian College of Theology welcomes students from overseas to study its courses here in Australia. Many of our colleges are registered to accept international student enrolments.

New South Wales: 02650E
Queensland: 02788J
Victoria: 02809J
Western Australia: 02558A

South Australia does not require the ACT to be listed on the CRICOS register. ACT affiliated colleges in South Australia have independent registration.

Scholarships
While not able to give general scholarships to students wishing to study with us, the Australian College of Theology does have both the David Garnsey Scholarship and some research grants.

The David Garnsey Scholarship
Established by the Council of the ACT in honour of the RIght Reverend D.A. Garnsey, M.A., Th.D., sometime Bishop of Gippsland and Chairman of the Board of Delegates, the Scholarship is open to candidates who, holding the certificate of Scholar of Theology or Bachelor of Theology with First Class Honours, have enrolled in the Master of Theology program of the College. Applicants must apply in writing to the Dean before January 30 of the year in which they desire to take up the appointment, setting out their qualifications and the nature of their research. The decision of the Delegates shall be final.

Research Grants

Up to three annual research grants may be offered to applicants who are engaged in masters or doctoral level research in ACT programs, and who are not already recipients of a Scholarship. Applications for the grants must be lodged by February 1 of each year. Application forms can be obtained from the ACT office.

Variation of Enrolment
Students who wish to vary their enrolment by addition of or withdrawal from a unit should consult student information distributed by their college for the critical dates that apply to that unit and the procedure to use to apply for a variation.  After the Administrative Date and up to the Census Date of a unit, a Variation of Enrolment Fee applies.  Withdrawal from a unit after the Withdrawal Date will normally attract a fail (FW) grade.

A summary of the Variation of Enrolment policy is provided in VofE Policy Appendices (PDF)

For a copy of the full Variation of Enrolment policy go to the Policies page

Going To Uni Website
The ACT is one of a number of Australian institutions that offers full fee-paying courses leading to higher education awards. The College has been granted Higher Education Provider status under the terms of the Higher Education Support Act 2003. This means that Australian students are eligible to receive income-contingent loans to meet all or part of their tuition fees through the FEE-HELP loan scheme. The scheme is fully described on the goingtouni website.
