EndNote software may only be used while a student or candidate is currently enrolled with the ACT. The licence to use the software under this agreement will terminate when you are no longer enrolled.
Any copy of EndNote software must be removed from your computer once you are no longer enrolled with the ACT, or are no longer a current staff member of an affiliated college, or when the license expires.
The current licence expires on 20 August 2013. Use of the software and documentation should be discontinued at that time and removed from computers if another agreement has not been entered into.
Duplicating or distributing the software in any way is prohibited.
The software may be used at an affiliated college of the ACT or at your principal residence but is limited to use related to research, coursework or other work directly related to your relationship with the ACT.

To download EndNote to your computer, please login at the top of this page with the username and password you received after you registered.
Note about downloading EndNote (for Mac or Windows):
Please be aware of the large file sizes. If you are experiencing a slow internet connection, you may be disconnected during the download. If you experience this a number of times, please contact the ACT office, and we will send you the program on a CD.
System requirements
Windows XP (service pack 3), Vista, Windows 7
Pentium 450MHz or faster processor
180MB hard disk space available
256MB RAM
It is necessary to have the latest Windows Updates installed.
Installation instructions:
1. Download the zipped folder
2. Right click on the folder and Extract All
3. When extraction is complete, you will find a licence.dat file and a ENX3Inst.msi
4. Double click the ENX4Inst.msi file to start the Endnote Setup program.

Login on this website and download the new version of EndNote. You may need to uninstall EndNote if you already have a previous version installed.

- PowerPC or Intel Macintosh 450MHz or higher
- Hard disk with 180MB available
- Internet connection required to search Internet databases
- Endnote is Unicode compliant
- EndNote files are compatible across Windows and Macintosh platforms

Installation instructions:
1. Once the download completes, a dialogue box may appear, stating "EndNote.dmg" contains an application. Click Continue.
2. The installer window will appear. Drag the EndNote folder into your Applications folder. Close this window when complete.
3. Open the EndNote X3 folder from the applications folder in your finder. Open the EndNote X3 file and follow the prompts.
4. You will have two files on your desktop which you can put in the trash at your leisure (EndNote.dmg and EndNote X3 Installer).

Students should consult one or more of the following sources for all matters relating to referencing and bibliographic citation.
The ACT recommends the use of either the author-date (aka the Harvard system) or the note system.
