The undergraduate diploma programs of the ACT have two pathways each. The first pathway is taken by studying primarily 200 level units. The second pathway is for students who wish to accelerate their progress towards a diploma, or are looking towards articulating to a bachelor degree program. Pathway 2 in the diploma courses consists of taking 300-400 level units.
These are the undergradaute diploma courses availiable for study through the Australian College of Theology:
Pathway 1
The undergraduate Diploma of Ministry requires 48 credit points for completion. The course duration is 1.5 years full time, with no part time time limit. The aim of the Diploma of Ministry is to introduce students in a systematic manner to the body of coherent knowledge that is the classical discipline of theology as a means of preparing men and women for well-informed participation in the life of the church and, if students so choose, for ministry in one or more areas of pastoral practice,
The course does aim to provide a foundation of knowledge and skills appropriate to Christian ministry, but not of the breadth and depth required for leaders and teachers in congregations for which vocation the BTh, BMin and the Master of Divinity have been devised.
Candidates are normally admitted upon satisfactory completion of Year 12 in an Australian school system or equivalent. Consideration will also be given to other factors such as practical experience, maturity and motivation, and the likelihood of satisfactory completion of the academic requirements of the course.
