The following unaccredited awards of the College, the Certificate in Theology (Formerly known as the ThA), Licentiate in Theology (ThL), and Scholar in Theology (ThSchol), are designed for private study.
The course is intended to further the education of adults in relation to Christian faith and life. Its aim is to stimulate the interest of alert and enquiring minds. What is required is not so much academic scholarship as an understanding of Christian theology and its implications for contemporary life. Students can enrol directly with the ACT.

The three year Licentiate in Theology is designed for those wishing a foundation in original Greek languages as well as enabling candidates to lay a broad foundation in theological studies. Students can enrol directly with the ACT or through one of the listed diploma colleges. This is a non-award course.

The course is designed to provide an opportunity for advanced study over a period of years for those who have already completed some basic theological training. The standard of scholarship and independent judgement expected for the ThSchol is similar to that of a BD at university level. There is a high emphasis on the Greek language, with an option to study Hebrew as well. Students can enrol directly with the ACT.
